National Initiative
Fit4MedRob
PNC initiative for medical robotics, digital rehabilitation, assistive technologies, and personalised robotic treatments.
Overview
Fit4MedRob addresses rehabilitation and personal care for people with reduced or absent motor, sensory, or cognitive functions. The initiative combines clinical needs, bioengineering, robotics, social sciences, and adoption models to support patient-specific therapies and a continuum of care.
The project material identifies UCBM and the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico among the participants, with activities across clinical assessment, rehabilitation robotics, and digital instrumentation.
Research Directions
- Identification of patient and therapist needs not met by current robotic technologies.
- Tailoring and clinical assessment of rehabilitation, assistive, and occupational robots.
- Cost-benefit, protocol, and policy work to support adoption in care pathways.
